Mi Lan Xiang (Honey Orchid Scent)

$6.50$45.50 (from $0.80/cup)

With a light fruity tanginess that you don’t find in other oolongs, it is easy to see how Mi Lan Xiang is one of the most popular Dan Cong oolongs.  With an intoxicating sweet orchid aroma, the straw color liquor has a medium body and bright astringency, and a juicy finish.  Sweet tropical flavors of tamarind and lychee come to mind.

This oolong comes from Wudong Shan 乌岽  Chao’an District, Chaozhou, Guangdong Province, and is grown at an elevation of 950 meters. The mountains are shrouded in mists until late morning then clears to warm sun. This variation of temperatures creates the perfect conditions to create some of the most treasured oolongs. The old trees used to produce this tea have grown for over one hundred years. The trees are so tall that ladders must be used to pick the leaves.
